 2018 Awards FAQ

    The Great Women of Gaming awards are designed to recognize the exceptional contributions of women from all levels and all industry sectors. We encourage nominations honoring women from lotteries, casinos, manufacturers, online gaming, sports betting, system suppliers, other suppliers and vendors to the gaming and lottery industry, law firms, marketing firms, and more. We are interested in receiving applications that cover a broad spectrum of women who are entrepreneurs or employees of companies big and small in the industry. Below are some of the most frequently asked questions regarding the awards: if you have a specific question not covered below, please email it to [email protected].

    How many women will receive awards?

    There will be one award winner for each category.


    Do I have to be in a casino company to apply?

    No. We encourage nominations for women from lotteries, casinos, manufacturers, online gaming, sports betting, system suppliers, other suppliers and vendors to the gaming and lottery industry, law firms, marketing firms, etc. We are interested in receiving applications that cover a broad spectrum of women who are entrepreneurs or employees of companies big and small in the industry.


    Who can nominate?

    A woman may nominate herself or may be nominated by a third party. The application must be complete before a woman is considered a nominee.


    How many people can I nominate? 

    You can nominate as many qualified women you would like.


    How much does it cost to apply?

    There is no cost to apply.


    Where do I get an application and when are they due?

    Applications will be made available at the Global Gaming Women website coinciding with the official launch of Great Women of Gaming at G2E 2017.  Complete applications must be received by July 31, 2018 to be considered for the 2018 Awards season.


    How are the winners selected?

    All complete nomination forms will be vetted by the Great Women of Gaming Working Committee. The committee will narrow down the applications to two exceptional women to be considered for receiving the award in each category.

    The Honorary Great Women of Gaming Committee, the Global Gaming Women Board, and the Great Women of Gaming Committee will each vote on the two nominees in each category determining the winner. 

    How will the winners be announced?

    Award winners will be announced with a formal award presentation during G2E 2018. In addition to a formal press release being sent to media outlets and press kits made available to individuals and corporations, a video will be prepared to be shown at award ceremonies at lottery and gaming trade shows and events worldwide. The GGW website will list the winners and include a video about the winners.


    What are the application requirements?

    The online application form must be completed. Please make sure you read the entry requirements for each individual award to make sure you or your nominee meet the specific award requirements. Award pages can be found here. A professional resume must be attached. A 500 word personal statement by or about the nominee and two supporting letters of recommendation must be attached


    Where do I obtain an application?

    Applications will be available online here beginning the week of G2E 2017.


    Where do I submit my application and its attachments?

    Applications may be submitted online here beginning the week of G2E 2017.


    Will I be notified during the submission process?

    Yes. You will receive an email verification that your application has been received.


    Can I edit my application once it has been submitted?

    No: once an application has been submitted, it cannot be modified.


    May I send my application and/or supporting materials in the mail?

    No. All application and supporting materials must be submitted online.


    To whom should my supporting letters be addressed?

    Supporting letters should be addressed to the Great Women of Gaming Committee.


    What kind of files should I upload?

    All supporting documents should be uploaded as PDF files. Individual uploads may be no bigger than 10mb.
