Shonette Carew
Shonette Carew

Shonette Carew became the Strategic Director of Marketing for Nemours Children’s Health System 4 months ago mid-COVID because she knows the agony of being a parent worried about your child.  Prior to this role, she developed her leadership and business acumen as a trailblazer in hospitality for over 20 years.  Shonette has held VP Marketing/ Casino Marketing roles for a variety of casinos such as Hollywood Casino Perryville, Valley Forge Casino Resort and Harrah’s Casino Philadelphia to name a few.  Prior to Marketing, she ran operational divisions including Hotel Operations, Event Management, Food and Beverage, Retail and Rewards Centers and Customer Service.  Whether working to deliver high quality services in children’s healthcare, hotels and hospitality, financial services or gaming entertainment, Shonette has had the privilege to help create and reinvent the service delivery process for a number of industries.  

Shonette is a product of NYC by way of Jamaica with turns living in other countries and residency in at least 6 states to date.  She holds a Bachelors from Pace University, NYC and a Masters of Management in Hospitality/Masters of Business Administration from The Cornell Hotel School and ESSEC Business School, Paris, France.  Shonette supports adding diverse perspectives and opinions to any conversation and values the depth that brings.  It makes us all richer.

Currently Senior Vice President and General Manager at Caesars Entertainment, Jacqueline is responsible for day-to-day operations and provides strategic direction on all things from capital planning to employee engagement. In her role, Jacqueline partners with property leaders to ensure guests enjoy an unsurpassed visit and team members enjoy a work culture that reflects the company’s Mission, Vision and Values.

In addition to property operations, Jacqueline has held previous roles in both marketing and HR leadership throughout her 10-year gaming career. Prior to joining the gaming industry, Jacqueline spent nine years on Wall Street and held management roles in both Technology and Diversity & Inclusion.

A graduate of the University of Virginia Darden School, Jacqueline earned a Master of Business Administration degree. In addition, she received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from Stony Brook University.

Anika Howard
Anika Howard
Anika Howard started her career in gaming with a desire to change how the industry viewed technology - specifically online and digital solutions. Her passion for technology and unique perspective guided her career path and helped pave the way for many of the interactive positions that exist today. She started her career as a President’s Associate with Caesars Entertainment and created her own path in Interactive Marketing and Online Gaming - stepping primarily into roles she designed to support her vision of what was possible.

Currently, as the Vice President of Brand Marketing and Digital at Foxwoods Resort Casino - the largest resort casino in North America.  She leads advertising, public relations, online marketing, sponsorships/partnerships, web development, social media for the resort.  She is also responsible for the FoxwoodsONLINE social casino and driving the strategy and vision into the expansion of sports betting and online gaming.   

Prior to her time at Foxwoods, Anika was a senior leader at IGT. She focused her expertise on strategy and marketing for IGT’s mobile gaming and sports betting services in North America. During her tenure Anika launched the first US iLottery site for the Illinois Lottery - giving Illinois residents the ability to purchase Mega Millions, Powerball and Lotto tickets online. She later led the development launch of the Georgia Education Lottery’s iLottery platform. Finally, she led IGT’s initial rollout of MGM’s mobile sports betting solution in Las Vegas and New Jersey, launched the PlayDigital, PlaySports and PlaySpot mobile on-premise sports betting solution business units.

Anika was named a Bronze Stevie Award Winner for the 2020 Marketing Executive of the Year, has been named one of the “25 People to Watch for 2018” by Global Gaming Business Magazine, and won the “2018 Women of Achievement Award” from the Nevada Women’s Fund.  She hold Masters of Business Administration and Masters of Information Systems Management from Arizona State University.

Kim Barker Lee is IGT's Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion. She is responsible for advancing IGT's corporate values by supporting a culture where all employees feel valued, respected, engaged, and empowered to contribute to IGT's success. This includes developing and implementing strategies to ensure that IGT has the best, brightest, and most diverse talent to drive the business forward. She is also responsible for leading IGT's Executive Diversity and Inclusion Council, establishing employee business resource groups and helping shape supplier diversity programs. Prior to her current role, Kim practiced governmental and public finance law in Chicago, Illinois, serving as the general counsel for Northstar Lottery Group, a majority-owned IGT affiliate, and the Illinois Student Assistance Commission. She was also a partner at the law firms of Pugh, Jones & Johnson P.C. and Altheimer & Gray. Kim has been a presenter on diversity and inclusion topics for organizations such as North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries, Advancing Workplace Excellence, Providence Business News, Chicago United, and the Chicago Committee for Minorities in Large Law Firms, and at gaming industry tradeshows and events such as G2E and ICE London. Kim is a graduate of Yale College and New York University School of Law. She serves on the Board of Trustees for the Community College of Rhode Island Fund, and is a determined advocate for families with children of color on the autism spectrum.

Felicia Gassen (Association Director) is a passionate and experienced advocate who brings a variety of experience to accomplish the objectives of Global Gaming Women. She is committed to developing programs and strategies to help women become leaders in the gaming industry, and her diverse background uniquely qualifies her to achieve that end. Felicia has extensive experience creating and funding programs that bring together diverse interests from across the country to a common goal.  She has managed research and education programs for bioengineering, biotechnology, bioinformatics, and structural and chemical biology; written grants and contracts for the University of California, San Francisco; and coordinated multidisciplinary scholars across several campuses and countries generating conversations to promote global research initiatives. 

Felicia earned a Bachelor of Fine Art from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and attended the University of California at Berkeley with an emphasis in integrative biology and entomology.

Adrienne N. Hester is a Marketing, Communications, and Brand Development Consultant. She owns TwoGirlsConsulting (2GC), a boutique firm with a history of developing successful integrated marketing campaigns since 2008. Adrienne brings 19 years of experience in the marketing, publishing, lifestyle, nonprofit, hospitality, and gaming sectors, in all sides of external and internal communications in corporate, entrepreneurial, and philanthropic settings, including brand launches and brand concept re-imaging. She is a proud citizen of the Muscogee Creek Nation with a B.A. from the Greenspun School of Communications from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Dedicated to her community, she volunteers her time helping to prepare the next generation of leaders, especially those in underserved communities between several organizations. As a member of the Las Vegas (NV) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, Theta Theta Omega Las Vegas Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Top Ladies of Distinction Greater Las Vegas Chapter (TLOD), and United Way of Southern Nevada as a member of the marketing committee.
