Western Region Education Sub-Committee

The Western Region Education Sub-Committee is responsible for working with the GGW Education & Training Committee to plan and execute regional Front Line Leader and Leadership Development conferences that are part of the structured Education Pyramid classes that focus on personal and professional growth.


Angela Segovia is Director, Product Marketing at Everi Payments, responsible for the development and execution of overall positioning, messaging and integrated marketing for all cash access, compliance and intelligence products.  Before moving into her current role, Angela was integral to leading the execution of Everi's interactive payments efforts in the iLottery space as well as various special projects, resulting in numerous streamlined processes and over $1M bottom-line savings to the company in less than a year period. Prior to joining Everi, Angela held a variety of senior positions in the education, telecom and technology industries.  With more than 15 years’ experience in marketing and business development, Ms. Segovia’s possession of a broad base of abilities and skills has allowed her to effectively drive organizational goals and meet business challenges. Her extensive, and industry agnostic, background has prepared her well to cultivate and manage long-term business alliances to execute operational strategies with demonstrated success. Ms. Segovia is a multi-talented business professional with proven success in building mutually beneficial partnerships while enhancing corporate value and steering change to accommodate new needs. A natural leader with a record of managing cross-functional teams to achieve company objectives and initiatives, she exhibits exceptional interpersonal skills to interact effectively with individuals from all levels and all departments within any organization and act as an interface and liaison with customers, vendors and industry partners.Angela Segovia earned a Master of Library Science degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Master of Arts in Educational Counseling degree from the University at Phoenix.

Karla Perez Larragooit is Vice President of Gaming at Houston-based Sysco Corporation. Karla has over 16 years of experience in both Commercial and Tribal gaming and is responsible for the further development of the Gaming Segment at Sysco. Born and raised in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Karla graduated from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Marketing and International Business. She began her career in gaming as a Sales Consultant with Cintas Uniforms.  Karla progressed her career at Cintas through demonstrated ability to develop and deliver mission-critical results, her customer-centric and analytical approach to new business development and the creation of a complete business strategy for a new segment at Cintas. In her last position at Cintas, Karla was National Director of Gaming, responsible for the company’s entire gaming strategy. Karla is a dedicated and visionary leader who creates strategic alliances with other organization leaders to effectively align with and support key business initiatives. She is recognized in the industry and is an award winning professional with a proven history of success.

Maria Castillo is Director of Guest Experience for Luxor Hotel & Casino. Responsible for ensuring the delivery of world-class guest service by establishing a clear road map to increase guest loyalty and employee engagement. Maria have been with MGM Resorts for 20 years. Prior to this role Maria was the Training and Development Manager for both Excalibur and Luxor were she implemented a service culture focused on making  internal/external guests feel special and important with an emphasis on the importance of guest recovery by empowering +5,550 employees ranging from front line to executive management. She single handedly educated hundreds of team members on key drivers of the guest experience in efforts to enhance and increase guest loyalty and satisfaction. Though originally from Guadalajara Mexico, Maria began her career in hospitality by working as a front desk clerk at the Mirage Hotel & Casino. Maria holds a Master’s Degree in Business Management, and is also proud Rebel with a Business Management degree from UNLV. In her free time, she enjoys home improvements, spending time outdoors hiking or at the beach.
